Vivianne Murphy, a long-standing New Yorker, moves clear across the country to escape the grasp of her overbearing mother, and to put her two failed marriages behind her. She settles in the Pacific Northwest, gets her real estate license, buys The Little House in the Woods, and works for a brokerage in the nearby town. She rescues a terrier mix dog, Sassy, who becomes the love of her life, second only to the raccoons and the occasional bear. Venice Martino, a fellow New Yorker, becomes Viv’s client when she falls in love with the area while trying to settle her aunt’s estate. When she buys a house across the street from Viv, they soon become the best of friends. Sassy also gains new friends, Venice’s two dogs, Betty, a Border Collie, and Mr. Snigglebottom, a stubborn Jack Russell. Venice becomes a broker with the help of Vivianne’s mentoring, and they soon find themselves embroiled in a murder and some very strange happenings. As the series progresses, Vivianne and Venice open their own brokerage, Rainbow Realty. Murder seems to find them, especially Viv, and they’re fast becoming amateur sleuths. Real estate has its own set of problems. While it can be very lucrative, it also has its downside. There are crazy clients, dangerous situations, and surprises, both good and bad. Viv’s familial obligations are still very much alive. Her Mom is a force, not to be reckoned with. Real Estate, Murder, and Mayhem is the first in the Vivianne Murphy Mystery series, followed by book 2, Real Estate, Dating, and Death.
I’m busy working on the next book in the series.
